Dr Disrespect not invited to Modern Warfare 2 preview event
During the 2022 NFL Draft in Las Vegas, a few fans and influencers got a sneak peek at early footage of Modern Warfare 2. Unfortunately, popular YouTuber and Call of Duty fan Dr Disrespect was not among the attendees.
Dr Disrespect’s absence from the preview event came as a surprise to his fans. As a prominent Call of Duty streamer with a large following, and even having worked as a level designer for Advanced Warfare, it seemed strange that he wasn’t invited. However, during a recent stream, Doc explained the reason behind this.
In a tweet by the ModernWarzone account, Dr Disrespect stated that he was not allowed to see the early footage of Modern Warfare 2 because his new studio, Midnight Society, is seen as a competitor to Call of Duty and Warzone. Despite this, Dr Disrespect demonstrated understanding and respect for the decision, rather than being disappointed or upset about not being invited.
“It didn’t upset me, I totally got it, champs,” said Dr Disrespect. “Think about that position, champs, I love it; Midnight Society considered a competitor. I respect it. I liked it, actually.”
While Midnight Society may have earned the respect of Activision Blizzard, it remains to be seen whether it can regain the respect of some fans who were outraged by the inclusion of NFTs in their first video game.
