Hyphonix’s Twitch ban lifted; full-time streaming to resume

Streamer Hyphonix Unbanned from Twitch, Returns Full-Time

Streamer Hyphonix has been unbanned from Twitch after being indefinitely banned since May 2018. The unexpected lift of the ban took place last Monday night, catching many of his fans by surprise.

Hyphonix’s return to Twitch was witnessed by his loyal fans who followed his YouTube livestreams. In the first minutes of his Twitch stream, he expressed his disbelief, stating, “I can’t believe any of this.” He has also confirmed that he will be transitioning from YouTube to streaming on Twitch full-time.

However, his return to Twitch was not without its hiccups. Shortly after being unbanned, his channel was suspended once again by Twitch for “evading a site-wide or channel suspension.” Despite the temporary setback, he was quickly reinstated as a Twitch staffer acknowledged that his account had been suspended mistakenly.

During his tenure on Twitch, Hyphonix gained a reputation for being a controversial streamer. He received multiple suspensions, ranging from seven days to one month, for violating the platform’s Terms of Service. For example, he once took off his shirt and covered himself in sauce, which Twitch classified as nudity and resulted in a ban that prevented him from appearing in fellow streamers’ livestreams.

Hyphonix’s permanent ban in May 2018 occurred after a stream where he had a spinning wheel for each subscriber. If a fan subscribed to his channel, he would spin the wheel, and one of the possible outcomes was that he would take a drink. Twitch interpreted this as the use of alcoholic drinks as an incentive for subscriptions, leading to the company permanently banning him. Since then, he had been streaming on YouTube.

It remains to be seen what Hyphonix’s schedule will be now that he has returned to Twitch. While he has streamed Clash Royale and Runescape in the past, it is likely that he will continue with his IRL streams and interact with friends.
