Hololive’s Valentine’s Day Bash: An Interactive YouTube Dating Simulator

Hololive Releases Interactive Dating Sim for Valentine’s Day

Hololive has launched an interactive dating sim game on its YouTube channel to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Fans can choose their favorite Hololive VTubers and go on different paths with them throughout the game.

The game takes place at a party featuring all the Hololive English talents who later go their separate ways. Players can accompany the VTubers to a park, cafe, theme park, or stay home and clean. Each route takes about 11 minutes to complete, with a total playtime of approximately 45 minutes for all paths.

The script for the game was written by Mori Calliope, a member of Hololive, with original illustrations by Aneco. The VTubers voice act their respective characters, and they all wear special Valentine’s Day outfits. The YouTube videos also have a mock UI overlay to enhance the visual novel experience.

In her Feb. 13 YouTube stream, Mori introduced her fans to the project, describing it as a low-key dating sim that is fun to play and chill on Valentine’s Day.

Mori credited Ceres Fauna’s “holoweEN” project as one of the inspirations for the dating sim. She expressed her excitement about creating an interactive experience for fans and how she wanted to see if they could bring her idea to life.

During the broadcast, Mori shared her concerns about capturing each talent’s personality and sense of humor in the script. To address this, she opened up the scriptwriting process to all the talents involved, allowing them to change their lines and make them more fitting to their characters.

The collaborative scriptwriting turned out to be a success, with each VTuber adding their own brand of humor and personal touch to the dating sim. Mori appreciates the opportunity for everyone to shine in their own way.

Mori also revealed that the project started as a smaller idea for her personal use during breaks but grew into something they all worked on together.

Lastly, Mori encourages fans to explore all the paths in the game, not just their favorite member’s route.
