Twitch Streamer Hasan Piker Receives Ban for “Anti-White Racism”
Popular Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has been banned from the streaming platform. The ban was issued due to Hasan’s use of the term “cracker” during a recent broadcast, which he claims was a result of an ongoing debate with viewers regarding the use of the term towards white people.
The ban was implemented after Hasan’s broadcast today, during which he watched clips from a previous stream with approximately 40,000 viewers.
No Explanation Provided by Twitch
As per Twitch’s standard practice, the platform has not provided any specific reason for suspending Hasan’s account. Twitch’s terms of service prohibit hateful conduct, including racism, on the platform.
Twitch’s terms of service state, “We will take action on all instances of hateful conduct and harassment, with an increasing severity of enforcement when the behavior is targeted, personal, graphic, or repeated/prolonged, incites further abuse, or involves threats of violence or coercion. The most egregious violations may result in an indefinite suspension on the first offense.”
