Streamer Hasan Piker claps back at Twitch after copyright claim
Streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker wasted no time responding to the copyright claim that led to his suspension on Twitch. Despite quickly getting unbanned, Hasan didn’t hold back in criticizing the right-wing political streaming channel, Censored.TV, that issued the claim. He had played a clip from their service to share his thoughts with his chat, only to be hit with a copyright notice shortly after.
Hypocrisy exposed: Censored.TV’s stance on free speech
During his chat, Hasan didn’t shy away from pointing out the hypocrisy demonstrated by Censored.TV regarding free speech. He revealed that the streaming channel was originally called “FreeSpeech.TV” but changed its name due to its own issues. Hasan also mentioned that other popular streamers, like Asmongold, had reacted to the same clip without facing any copyright claims.

The motive behind the copyright claim
Why was Hasan the only one targeted with a copyright claim? According to him, it’s simply because they wanted to mess with him. Given Hasan’s prominent status as a streamer and his outspoken left-wing views, it’s understandable that those on the opposite side of the political spectrum would try to make things difficult for him. Although some of his chat suggested issuing a counter-claim, Hasan dismissed the idea due to the potential legal battle he would have to face.
No love lost between Hasan and Censored.TV
It’s clear that there is no love lost between Hasan and Censored.TV. Despite the incident, Hasan remains determined to freely express his opinions and react to various content on Twitch. His return stream after the one-day suspension attracted nearly 50,000 concurrent viewers at the time of writing.
