MTG Arena Players to Experience New Theros: Beyond Death Set

Starting tomorrow, MTG Arena players will have the chance to explore Standard Constructed and Sealed gameplay with the highly anticipated Theros: Beyond Death set.

An exclusive MTG Arena Early Access event featuring the Theros: Beyond Death (THB) set will take place tomorrow, Jan. 15, at 10am CT. Content creators from around the world will be live streaming, showcasing their gameplay with full access to every card in the THB set. This event allows them to test play in Standard Constructed and Limited Sealed formats.

The streaming of the MTG Arena Early Access event will continue for 22 hours leading up to the January update that will include the new THB set. This offers an exciting opportunity for content creators and Magic Arena players to experiment with the new cards prior to their official digital release on Jan. 16. Additionally, many of the participating streamers are expected to share decklists for their constructed decks.

Theros: Beyond Death set consists of 254 cards, featuring the new Escape mechanic and beloved mechanics like Devotion and Constellation. Returning to the plane of Theros, the set’s theme revolves around the underworld and includes a multitude of enchantments, enchantment-creatures, and enchantment-auras.

The set also introduces a cycle of gods and demigods, along with the reintroduction of sagas to Standard. Simic and Mono-Black archetypes are expected to excel, but the true potential of the decks will be revealed during the MTG Arena Early Access event.
