Guide: Applying for YouTube Gifted Memberships Beta

YouTube is finally introducing Gifted Memberships, a highly anticipated feature that will enhance its livestream service. Creators, particularly those popular on the platform, have been requesting YouTube’s own version of “gifted subs” like those found on Twitch, and their wish has been granted.

According to YouTube’s Global Head of Gaming Creators, Gifted Memberships on YouTube cost $5 and offer a 70/30 percent revenue share in favor of creators. Currently, they can be purchased in quantities of one, five, ten, or twenty by channel members. Gifted members receive one month of access to all the channel membership perks, and YouTube prioritizes these memberships for viewers who engage more with the stream.

Limited Beta for Gifted Memberships

Gifted Memberships are currently in a limited beta phase and are only available to a few select creators. However, you can sign up to gain early access to future betas over the next few months before the feature is fully rolled out.

How to Sign Up for YouTube Gifted Memberships

Interested creators can sign up for access to the Gifted Memberships feature by filling out this Google form. The form provides an overview of how Gifted Memberships work and reminds creators that viewers must opt-in to receiving gifts (once) when they turn on a livestream.

To sign up, creators simply need to provide their channel name and channel ID, and select “Yes” when asked if they are “happy to confirm participation in the Gifting beta” and enable the feature. The channel ID can be found in the advanced settings of the YouTube account profile. Then click Submit.

If you have multiple livestreaming channels, you will need to submit the form for each one.

The first beta wave is only open to a small group of creators, including popular names such as TimTheTatman, Valkyrae, CourageJD, DrLupo, and several others. This beta is set to officially launch on May 11.
