Fuslie Opens Up About ‘Stressful’ Experience on Twitch That Led to Her Move to YouTube

100 Thieves Streamer Fuslie Switches to YouTube Citing Concerns over Twitch’s DMCA Policies

Popular streamer and 100 Thieves member, Lesie “Fuslie” Fu, has made the decision to switch platforms from Twitch to YouTube. One of the main factors influencing her decision was the difference in how Twitch and YouTube handle DMCA strikes.

Twitch’s Stricter DMCA Policies

Fuslie expressed concerns about Twitch’s more stringent and less forgiving approach towards issuing DMCA strikes. She described Twitch’s policies as “terrifying” and “stressful” in comparison to YouTube.

YouTube’s User-Friendly DMCA System

According to Fuslie, YouTube’s DMCA strike system is simpler and more transparent. When something is flagged, she is notified on her dashboard and given the opportunity to resolve the issue. If she ignores the notification, she will receive a channel strike.

In contrast, Fuslie found Twitch’s system to be confusing and messy. She explained that Twitch would issue strikes for past clips that violated copyright, even if they were from years ago. Fuslie recounted instances where she received strikes for listening to Ariana Grande songs multiple times in one day. Twitch staff also informed her that there was nothing they could do to help her with the strikes.

The Fear of Permanent Channel Removal

Fuslie expressed her fear of Twitch permanently taking down her channel if she didn’t comply with their instructions. Even though the Twitch staff she interacted with were friendly and sympathetic, the lack of a reliable system to remove past clips added to her stress and anxiety.

A Safer Haven on YouTube

Fuslie’s decision to throw shade at Twitch in her YouTube announcement video didn’t come as a surprise. She explained that the constant fear and uncertainty she experienced on Twitch made her feel safer and more secure on YouTube. Fuslie is now happy to be part of the YouTube community, where she can continue streaming with her friends.
