Forsen discusses his plans to relocate in response to Article 13

European Streamers Considering Moving to Avoid Article 13

Today, the European Parliament passed Article 13, a new law with uncertain implications. As a result, some European streamers are already contemplating relocating to avoid the potential consequences. One such streamer, Sebastian “Forsen” Fors, expressed his concerns during a recent livestream.

Twitch, the popular streaming platform, has previously warned streamers about the potential impact of Article 13 on content creators. According to Twitch, European streamers may face severe restrictions on their channels due to this new law. Consequently, streamers like Forsen will inevitably experience a loss in revenue that is vital for their streaming endeavors.

During his livestream, Forsen suggested, “just move, just move out of EU.” A viewer even recommended renting Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris’ apartment in Austin, Texas. Forsen acknowledged that obtaining a work visa in America might be challenging, so he might have to rely on some favors to determine his future destination.

Although Forsen has not fully committed to leaving Europe at this time, he has entertained the idea. In the coming weeks, as the true impact of Article 13 becomes clearer, it will heavily influence the future of many Twitch streamers. If the law significantly hampers streamers’ success on the platform, they will be forced to relocate or pursue alternative careers. However, Forsen appears to be dedicated to his stream, even if it means moving to another country to escape the reach of Article 13.
