Finalists for Streamer of the Year at the 2022 Esports Awards Revealed.

The Esports Awards 2022: Recognizing Excellence in the Industry

The Esports Awards 2022 is quickly approaching. This prestigious awards ceremony acknowledges outstanding achievements in the esports industry. The event will be held at the Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas on December 13th.

The nominees for each award have been announced, including the contenders for the Streamer of the Year category. This award is highly regarded and coveted by Twitch and YouTube streamers.

The list includes some familiar names, such as Dr Disrespect, who won the award in 2017 and 2019, and Ibai, who won it in 2020 and 2021. Asmongold and Valkyrae have also made the cut. Additionally, eight other streamers are in the running, some of whom have never been nominated before.

Here are the 12 streamers who have a chance at winning the prize:

  • Alexandre “Gaules” Borb
  • Asmongold
  • David “TheGrefg” Martínez

  • Kammeto

Interestingly, xQc, Ludwig, and Mizkif were not included in the list, despite their stellar performances that led to nominations for Streamer of the Year at The Streamer Awards, which Ludwig won.

xQc dominated Twitch viewership, as has become tradition.

Meanwhile, Mizkif gained immense popularity in the latter half of 2021 and leading into 2022, and Ludwig established himself as a YouTube juggernaut. However, it is worth noting that xQc and Ludwig were both nominated for Streamer of the Year at the Esports Awards last year in 2021, so perhaps their achievements were recognized then.

The consensus among fans is that Ibai has the upper hand in winning the award. Not only has he expanded his content, resulting in increased viewership, but he also set a record for all-time concurrent viewership while hosting a boxing event on June 25th. Ultimately, the winner will be determined by the fans’ votes.

If you want to have your voice heard, you can cast your vote on the Esports Awards website. The voting window is now open and is expected to remain open until November.
