FaZe Kalei alleges denial of captaincy in Warzone event over ‘provocative tweets’

Activision Denies FaZe Kalei Captain Spot in Warzone Event Due to “Oversexual Tweets”

Popular content creator and avid Call of Duty Warzone player Kalei alleges that Activision denied her a captain spot in one of FaZe Clan’s Warzone events because of tweets of a sexual nature, as she claimed in a now-deleted tweet.

The World Series of Warzone Returns, Offering Cash Prizes and the Chance to Play Against Top Players

The highly-anticipated World Series of Warzone is set to kick off this month, providing Warzone players with the opportunity to win thousands of dollars and play against some of the biggest names in the esports scene. Each team is led by a captain, typically a professional Call of Duty player or streamer. The absence of Kalei, who has participated in numerous Warzone tournaments, caught the attention of many creators.

In response to fellow content creator THump, Kalei stated that she is “not allowed to be captain in any Activision hosted tournaments” due to the company’s alleged objection to her tweets. Kalei criticized Activision for having double standards in their decision, as seen in a now-deleted tweet reposted by Jake Lucky.

Kalei said, “Wasn’t allowed to get a captain spot in our own FaZe tourney due to Activision literally not liking my **oversexual tweets**. But yet the same company has a [profile picture] of a creator’s ass cheek as their FaZe Kalei alleges denial of captaincy in Warzone event over 'provocative tweets' on a company twitter.” Other creators came to Kalei’s support, highlighting sexual tweets shared by official Call of Duty accounts.

Kalei expressed that her issue was not with the company’s posting of explicit content, but rather with the disparity in treatment. This is not the first time the FaZe streamer has encountered such a situation, as she faced a Twitch ban in October for sexually suggestive content.

Although developers have shown support for Kalei, it appears that she will have to sit out this event for the time being.
