Facebook Gaming provides insights on their partnership with Mixer

Facebook Gaming Addresses Questions About Mixer Partnership

Microsoft’s decision to close Mixer and partner with Facebook Gaming has left many streamers without a platform, but Facebook Gaming is attempting to address their concerns. In a Twitter thread, the official Facebook Gaming account answers some of the most common questions, including what former Mixer partners can expect from the partnership.

Facebook Offers Partner Status and Benefits

Facebook Gaming has confirmed that all Mixer partners will receive Facebook partner status, and they will match the existing agreements as closely as possible. This ensures that the partners are not left empty-handed. Additionally, non-partners can join the Level Up Program, with a fast-track onboarding process for eligible streamers looking to make the switch.

Using Facebook Page for Chat Interactions

Facebook Gaming explains that streamers can create a Facebook Page and use it as their account to interact with viewers in chat or moderate the stream. However, this feature is only available on the desktop version of Facebook, not on the mobile app.

Addresing Trust Concerns

Regarding trust issues, especially due to past data breaches and information security problems, the company acknowledges the concerns and states that they are actively working on improving the streaming experience. Facebook Gaming emphasizes that user feedback is crucial in earning and maintaining trust.

Mixer is scheduled to shut down on July 22, so streamers will need to make the transition to new platforms soon.
