ASMR Star Amouranth’s Twitch Channel Banned Due to Nudity
Last night, popular ASMR star Amouranth had her Twitch channel banned for nudity. While playing with her dog on the floor to capture sounds for a “dog ASMR” video promised to her subscribers, her skirt slipped, accidentally exposing herself.
Since last night, Amouranth’s Twitch channel has been blocked. Viewers are unable to watch any of her VODs, clips, or other content. The streamer has not yet commented on the reason for the ban, and it remains uncertain how long the ban will last.
Twitch’s Rules Regarding Sexual Content and Nudity
Twitch has specific rules on sexual content and nudity, barring any form of nudity without specifying intent. According to the Terms of Service, sexually suggestive attire or content includes undergarments, intimate apparel, or the focus on male or female genitals, buttocks, or nipples.
The Terms of Service also address cases where streamers accidentally show sexually explicit content. It states that streamers are responsible for ensuring that everything shared on their account complies with Twitch’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Breaking these rules, whether accidental or intentional, can lead to moderation action, including content removal and account suspension.
Potential Length of Amouranth’s Ban
Amouranth’s ban duration is dependent on how Twitch staff interprets the incident. If they believe she deliberately exposed herself, the punishment is likely to be more severe. Otherwise, the ban should be short and last less than a week.
In recent cases involving other popular streamers, temporary suspensions on Twitch lasted less than seven days. For example, variety streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel received a ban of less than 24 hours when a video he was watching briefly displayed explicit content. His reported ban length was three days.
However, in xQc’s case, he was unaware of the explicit content in the video he was watching live.
Amouranth’s suspension can become significant for Twitch and other streamers, as some creators criticize the platform for a lack of consistent standards when it comes to suspensions and bans. Her case could set a precedent for future incidents.
