Dream contributes $140,000 to LGBTQIA+ charity from earnings from Pride month streams

The Internet’s Largest Minecraft Creator Donates $140,000 to LGBTQIA+ Charity

Dream, the largest Minecraft creator on the internet, has fulfilled his promise of giving back to the LGBTQIA+ community during Pride month. He donated a whopping $140,000 to charity.

At the beginning of June, Dream pledged to his community that all the money earned through streaming during Pride month would be used to support LGBTQIA+ youth. And on the final day of the month, he shared the incredible news of the life-changing donation.

Despite only streaming twice and hosting three Twitter or Discord podcasts, Dream managed to amass $90,000 from subscribers, donations, and ads throughout the month. In addition, the “dteam” contributed an extra $50,000, resulting in a total of $140,000.

This substantial amount will be donated to the Trevor Project, an exceptional charity that supports LGBTQIA+ youth. You can find more information about the charity here.

Before the announcement, Dream faced criticism for pledging to donate his stream revenue for Pride month but only streaming twice. One possible reason for the limited streaming was his involvement in a controversy at the end of May, where he admitted to unintentionally cheating during a speedrun, making headlines.

Although the number of streams may have been small, the $140,000 donation is commendable and will greatly assist LGBTQIA+ youth in need.
