Cohh Carnage remains committed to charity stream goals despite fraudulent donation

Streamer Cohh Carnage’s Charity Stream Hit by Fake Donation, Community Goals Still Honored

A recent charity stream by Twitch streamer Cohh Carnage experienced a fraudulent donation, as revealed by Cohh Carnage himself in a video. The confirmed contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital reached over $420,000, excluding the fake transaction. However, Cohh Carnage plans to continue honoring all the goals achieved by the community.

Fake Donation Occurred Ahead of the Charity Stream

The deceptive act took place on June 24, with an early donation of around $600,000. The person responsible for the fake donation claimed that they were unable to donate through Cohh Carnage’s chosen fundraising platform, Tiltify. Instead, they allegedly transferred the money directly to St. Jude and provided bank documents to support the claim.

Community Insists on Including Fake Donation in Milestones

After learning about the significant contribution, Cohh Carnage’s viewers argued that it should count towards the fundraising milestones. This pushed the total donations to $900,000. The streamer then held another round of fundraising to surpass the $1 million mark.

Deception Unveiled and Goals Honored

However, once the donation period ended, Cohh Carnage did not receive confirmation of the transaction from St. Jude. The person behind the ruse initially blamed it on a banking error and then claimed to be under police investigation. Finally, after being confronted by Cohh Carnage, they admitted to the lie. Cohh Carnage described the perpetrator as “a big part of the community” in the video.

Despite the fake donation, Cohh Carnage intends to uphold the goals achieved by the community. These goals include playing a dating simulator, Final Fantasy XIV, and hosting a hot tub stream.

Cohh Carnage has already begun fulfilling some of the goals, including playing the Final Fantasy XIV campaign live on stream.
