Asmongold takes action within his community following backlash from Diablo Immortal stream critiques

Streamer Asmongold Restrains Community and Subreddit After Criticisms for Diablo Immortal Stream

Popular streamer Asmongold faced heavy criticism for his recent Diablo Immortal stream, which led him to take action by restraining his own community and subreddit. Multiple threads were removed and several users were banned as a result.

Diablo Immortal Receives Intense Scrutiny

Since its launch, the newly released Blizzard game Diablo Immortal has faced intense scrutiny. Fans, especially longtime Blizzard and Diablo fans, have expressed disapproval towards the game’s mobile platform, pay-to-win elements, and other gameplay features.

Asmongold’s Controversial Diablo Immortal Stream

Twitch streamer Asmongold, a veteran in the world of Blizzard and MMO, streamed Diablo Immortal for the first time on June 3. During his five-hour stream, he heavily relied on real-life purchases to enhance his character. Fans were critical of Asmongold’s willingness to spend money on the game and participate in gambling-like features.

After the stream ended, several threads on Asmongold’s subreddit emerged, condemning the streamer and calling for him to step back from the game. Many viewers even compared his behavior to that of xQc, who had taken gambling sponsors.

On his alternate Twitch account, Zackrawrr, Asmongold deleted multiple posts on his subreddit that echoed similar sentiments or criticized his recent Diablo Immortal stream. When questioned about the dissent in his community during a later stream, Asmongold stated, “I’ll just solve that the same way I always do, I’ll delete all the threads and ban them.”

This is not the first time that Asmongold has faced criticism from his community for what some perceive as reckless in-game gambling, as seen in his Lost Ark streams. With a strategy to silence critics through bans, Asmongold has given no other response to his community.
