Asmongold Unsure about Playing Final Fantasy XIV Again
Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold recently made a triumphant return to playing Final Fantasy XIV after a break, much to the delight of his fans. However, he is already reconsidering his decision.
During a stream on June 28, Asmongold expressed his concerns about his stream becoming solely focused on Final Fantasy XIV. He stated, “I don’t want it to be another one of those situations where my stream turns into a Final Fantasy XIV stream. I don’t want to do that.”
The streamer explained that in the past, his community became fixated on him playing the game and would get upset if he did anything else. He described this situation as “constraining” and “obnoxious,” and he does not wish to repeat it.
Another issue that bothers Asmongold is when fans claim that he does not enjoy the game. This not only decreases his desire to play, but it also leads to constant fighting and scrutiny that he finds overwhelming.
Asmongold emphasized that these issues only arise when he plays Final Fantasy XIV and not with any other game. This has made him hesitant to continue playing the MMO.
This is not the first time Asmongold has called out his Twitch community for similar behavior. In the past, he had to address fans’ overreactions when he streamed Diablo Immortal. However, this time he is not taking the same action of censoring posts and complaints.
Although he hasn’t completely given up on Final Fantasy XIV, Asmongold’s enthusiasm for the game has dwindled. During his stream on June 23, he chose to play Fall Guys instead of Final Fantasy XIV, indicating his uncertainty about continuing to play the MMO.
