Asmongold reveals reasons for not playing Final Fantasy XIV

Asmongold Explains His Break from Final Fantasy XIV and Current Gaming Preferences

Last summer, Asmongold surprised many by delving into the world of Final Fantasy XIV. However, since returning to Twitch after a break, the popular content creator has not played the game.

Since February, Asmongold has primarily spent his streaming time playing Lost Ark following its Western release. He has also tried out FromSoftware’s new open-world RPG Elden Ring, streaming the game for 74 hours, according to SullyGnome.

In addition to these games, Asmongold has spent 99 hours in the Just Chatting category and slightly over 10 hours playing WoW and New World combined.

Yesterday, Twitch’s top MMO content creator shared why he has chosen not to play FFXIV, despite the high viewership he received when he first tried the game last summer.

Asmongold explained, “Imagine how much fun you would have playing World of Warcraft if you couldn’t level past 35… That’s what it is. I can’t play the rest of the fucking game because I gotta do the MSQ (Main Scenario Quests) on stream.”

While some Reddit fans expressed concerns that Asmongold may never return to FFXIV, he dismissed the idea of quitting the game forever. However, he does not have immediate plans to come back.

“I’ll come back to the game whenever I come back to the game,” he stated. “If people don’t believe that, it is what it is. I’ll see you whenever I come back… I’m going to play the game whenever I run out of things to do in other games.”
