Asmongold’s Twitch Stream Honors Reckful, Raises Money for Suicide Prevention

Players from all around the world of World of Warcraft gathered on Asmongold’s Twitch stream today to mourn the loss of popular gamer Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, known for his competitive WoW play in the late 2000s.

After hearing the news of Reckful’s death, which was reportedly a suicide at the age of 31, Asmongold announced that he would dedicate his stream to charity. His initial plan was to donate all the earnings from today’s stream to a suicide prevention charity, with a goal of $15,000.

During the stream, Asmon took the time to talk about Reckful and the impact of social media on mental health. He also shared statistics highlighting mental health issues.

As the viewership continued to climb, surpassing 100,000 viewers, Asmongold visited major cities in both retail and Classic WoW, exploring both the Horde and Alliance factions. He found a large number of players memorializing Reckful after his tragic death.

At the time of writing, Asmongold’s stream has reached a peak of over 120,000 viewers.
