Asmongold criticizes YouTube Gaming’s performance, prefers Mixer

Asmongold Shares His Thoughts on YouTube Gaming in Response to Ludwig’s Video

Asmongold, one of Twitch’s top creators, recently expressed his opinion on YouTube Gaming in a broadcast on April 28. During the stream, he reacted to a video by popular YouTube streamer Ludwig, who discussed Twitch’s reported monetization changes.

In the video uploaded to Ludwig’s Mogul Mail channel, Asmongold eagerly awaited to hear what Ludwig had to say about YouTube Gaming. According to Asmongold, he was “curious” to find out the content creator’s thoughts.

Ludwig’s Comparison of Twitch and YouTube Gaming Prompts Asmongold’s Critique

Towards the end of the video, Ludwig compared Twitch and YouTube Gaming, noting that the latter had more to offer for new creators, particularly in terms of discoverability. However, he also mentioned that YouTube’s live streaming section is not ideal for viewers to find creators based on their interests. These comments led Asmongold to share his strong opinion about the platform.

“Ludwig’s on contract; non-disparagement clause. I’m not,” Asmongold remarked during the broadcast. He went on to describe YouTube Gaming as “garbage” and “absolute trash,” stating that it was worse than Mixer, which is currently struggling. Asmongold suggested that if YouTube was primarily focused on live streaming, it would be in a dire situation and urged the platform to fix its issues.

Ludwig’s Unspoken Agreement with Asmongold

Although Ludwig cannot explicitly voice his agreement, it is likely that he agrees with Asmongold to some extent. In fact, Ludwig even had a browser extension created to make his YouTube Gaming chat feel more like Twitch.

Despite YouTube Gaming’s shortcomings, numerous prominent Twitch streamers, including Valkyrae, DrLupo, and Timthetatman, have transitioned to the platform.
