Armed Robbery Targets Twitch Streamer’s Store, Stealing Electronics and Trading Cards

Robbery at Twitch Streamer’s Game Store Highlights Theft of Trading Cards

Thieves have always targeted games and electronics stores due to the high value of consoles and their accessories. However, a recent robbery at Twitch streamer DSKoopa’s game store, Pink Gorilla, has revealed a new item of interest for thieves: trading cards. The surge in popularity of rare cards in games like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! is believed to have played a role in this incident. The thief not only took video game consoles and cash but also made off with valuable trading cards that were on display at the store.

Appearance on Twitch Stream Led to Unfortunate Encounter

Interestingly, the perpetrator had appeared on DSKoopa’s Twitch stream in the past. The streamer often provides a behind-the-scenes look at Pink Gorilla, including during business hours. However, this time, the store was closed, and DSKoopa unknowingly let the alleged thief into the store to take a look around before escorting him out.

Multiple Thefts Increase Concerns of Relocation

This is not the first time Pink Gorilla has experienced theft. Over the past year, the store has been targeted multiple times, usually outside of business hours. However, this instance was different, as the employees had to confront the thief face-to-face, with him concealing a gun beneath his sweatshirt. These repeated thefts have prompted DSKoopa to reconsider the store’s location and even contemplate relocation, despite the strong sentimental and financial attachment to its original site in Seattle.

Difficult Decision Between Safety and Financial Stability

DSKoopa acknowledges the emotional and financial impact of leaving the store’s longtime location but believes it is necessary to prioritize the safety of his employees. The streamer finds himself in a challenging situation where he must choose between the heartbreak of relocation and the potential danger faced by those working behind the counter.
