Another streamer reaches frustration with Twitch as Partner contract expires

Comedian Will Neff Expresses Frustration with Twitch’s Treatment of Creators

Will Neff, a comedian and streamer, is among the growing number of creators who are displeased with Twitch’s treatment of its creators.

During a recent stream, Neff expressed frustration with Twitch, stating that he believes the platform is losing its identity. Neff is known for his collaborations with creators like HasanAbi and AustinShow.

He voiced his disappointment, saying, “I can’t defend Twitch anymore. Your whole identity is supposed to be creator-first, but it’s not. YouTube is surpassing you. The only reason we haven’t left is because our audience is here.”

Neff acknowledged that many of Twitch’s employees are talented, but the company’s organization and bureaucracy hinder the platform’s performance. Neff specifically found this problematic when it came to his contract negotiations.

Neff expressed frustration with Twitch’s delay in contract talks. Despite reaching out to the platform about his contract renewal, Twitch failed to respond for a whole month and then stated that it required a 90-day notice for negotiations.

Angry with this response, Neff exclaimed, “You just spent 30 days waiting to tell me when my contract is up. Why the heck do you need 90 days to renegotiate? You need a quarter of a year’s notice? Shame on you. They do it to screw you over.”

Neff isn’t the only creator to face challenges during contract negotiations with Twitch. MoonMoon described his recent negotiation as impersonal, referring to the platform as being run by “lizard snake people.”

Despite not wanting to contribute to the negative sentiment surrounding Twitch, Neff felt compelled to share his frustrations due to poor communication regarding his contract renewal.

According to Neff, “If they continue to mistreat us, we’ll demand what we’re owed.”
