Among Us Becomes Best Seller on Nintendo Switch in Just One Day
The popular game Among Us was released on the Nintendo Switch following its announcement in the Indie World Showcase yesterday. Within just one day of its release, it has already reached the top of the Best Sellers section in the Switch eShop.
This achievement comes as no surprise, considering the game’s massive popularity among Twitch content creators in August. Among Us exceeded 100 million downloads in September and continues to entertain the gaming community, now making its debut on consoles.
Among Us is available on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $5, the same price as the PC version on Steam. However, the mobile version is free. Like the PC and mobile versions, the Switch version of the game supports crossplay, allowing for a larger pool of players on Among Us servers.
There is currently no announcement from developer Innersloth regarding the game’s release on other consoles. However, considering its immense success in sales, it’s possible that Among Us may become available on Xbox or PlayStation in the future.
Additionally, fans can look forward to a new map in early 2021 called “The Airship.” This will be the first map added by Innersloth since the game’s launch in 2018 and will introduce new tasks, ladders, and more.
