All-Women Speedrunning Marathon “Flame Fatales” Kicks Off This Weekend

Games Done Quick Hosts Flame Fatales Speedrunning Tournament for Charity

This weekend, Games Done Quick is hosting a special speedrunning tournament called Flame Fatales. This annual event, which runs from Aug. 21 to Aug. 27, will be held online on the Games Done Quick Twitch channel. The tournament aims to showcase women in the speedrunning community and raise money for the Malala Fund, a non-profit organization focused on providing education for girls worldwide.

During the tournament, viewers can enjoy watching their favorite speedrunners take on a variety of games, including popular titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Stardew Valley. Additionally, the tournament features unique games such as Disney’s 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue, Hello Kitty and Sanrio Friends Racing, and Boyfriend Dungeon.

To support the cause, viewers can donate directly through the Games Done Quick home page on their website. One hundred percent of the donations made during the Flame Fatales tournament will go to the Malala Fund.

If you’re interested in tuning in, you can find the full schedule on the GDQ website. The tournament kicks off at 12pm CT with the game Unpacking, and speedrunning will continue throughout the week until the event concludes around 12am CT on Aug. 27.
