Advice from Twitch for streamers who broadcasted Fortnite’s Nexus War event

Fortnite Season Ends with Epic Nexus War Event on Twitch

The season finale of Fortnite, known as Nexus War, was a thrilling event that attracted over one million viewers on Twitch. However, streamers may encounter issues related to copyrighted music during their broadcasts.

Twitch Support issued a statement after the event, advising users on how to minimize the risk of being flagged for broadcasting copyrighted music. They recommended downloading the full broadcast of the event and then removing any VODs or clips that contain the copyrighted audio.

During the 10-minute event, players were tasked with driving a battle bus to defeat the enemy Galactus. At this point, the vehicle’s radio system played AC/DC’s “Demon Fire.”

While the music played, some streamers immediately muted their game sound to avoid potential DMCA strikes on their channels. However, not all streamers took this precaution, leaving the community uncertain about potential punishments.

In recent months, many Twitch streamers have faced DMCA takedowns due to copyrighted music in their broadcasts. To address this issue, Twitch introduced SoundTrack, a new music streaming service that offers streamers a library of music that is free to use and avoids copyright conflicts.
