A Guide to Unbanning a Viewer on Your Twitch Channel

How to Unban Someone on Your Twitch Channel

Moderating a channel on Twitch can sometimes require banning users to maintain a positive streaming environment. However, banning someone permanently doesn’t have to be the final decision.

If you realize that someone was wrongfully banned or the punishment was excessive, you may want to unban them and give them a second chance.

Many popular streamers often hold “ban appeal” streams, where they review bans and consider whether to grant a second chance to the individuals.

Thankfully, unbanning someone on your Twitch channel is a simple process, and there are a few ways to do it.

Firstly, Twitch provides a Chat Command system that enables streamers to ban and unban viewers easily.

By typing “/ban” or “/unban” followed by the username of the person, you can take the desired action and ban or unban them from your chat room.

In case you can’t recall the exact username spelling, you can access your settings to find a list of all the banned users.

To check your banned users, go to your Creator Dashboard and click on the “Settings” dropdown menu. Then, choose “Moderation.”

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a “Banned Chatters” button that leads you to a separate page. This page contains a list of all the users currently banned from your channel, along with information on who banned them and when.

On the far right, you’ll see a trash can icon that allows you to unban any user on your ban list.

In addition, you can add users to your ban list on the same page by entering their name in a text box at the top and clicking the “Add” button next to it.
