2020 AGDQ Event Begins Today

This Year’s Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) Underway

The much-anticipated Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) has officially begun, bringing together hundreds of speedrunners and a wide selection of games—all for a charitable cause.

Over the next week, AGDQ will be live-streamed non-stop on Twitch, showcasing a series of speedruns in hopes of encouraging generous donations from the community to support various charitable endeavors.

AGDQ is already off to a strong start, raising over $40,000 in its first few speedruns. However, it still has a long way to go to surpass the astonishing record set by Summer Games Done Quick 2019, which raised over $3 million for a single event in just one week.

Although donations initially tend to be slow, based on previous years’ averages, AGDQ is projected to raise at least $2 million by next Sunday for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This organization focuses on early prevention and detection of cancer.

The AGDQ event concludes on January 11th with the popular game Super Metroid. Throughout the event, there will be something for every fan. You can find the complete list of games and their corresponding livestream schedule on the event’s official website.
