Ludwig Raises $300,000 for Charity in 50-Hour YouTube Stream
In a repeat of his record-breaking subathon on Twitch, Ludwig embarked on a new challenge, this time on YouTube, for a charitable cause. The 50-hour stream, held at DreamHack Atlanta, featured various punishments and raised an impressive $300,000.
The Crazy Ordeal: Punishments and Milestones
Ludwig subjected himself to an array of hilarious and crazy antics inside a glass box at DreamHack Atlanta. For every milestone met, he endured punishments, including a terrible haircut, dressing as a clown, being punched by a professional chess boxer, getting shot by T-Pain with a paintball gun, and waxing his armpits.
A Permanent Reminder: The Tattoo
When the donation amount reached $300,000, Ludwig made an agreement to tattoo whatever received the most votes. Valkyrae’s $15,000 donation sealed the deal, and Ludwig ultimately got the Twitch logo tattooed. This decision holds significance as Twitch is no longer his home platform.
A Successful Stream for Charity
The subathon garnered significant viewership, with the VOD already reaching approximately four million viewers. The main beneficiaries of the event, however, were Alveus Sanctuary and No Kid Hungry, who each received $150,000 to support their causes of animal welfare and combating childhood hunger in the U.S.
