World Pool makes a comeback in the UK and Ireland with the introduction of a £50,000 charity prize for jockeys.

Exciting News for UK and Ireland Racing Fans

World Pool, the largest globally commingled horse racing pools created and powered by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, is set to kick off its UK season at Newmarket Racecourse on Saturday, May 4th. This season comes with a thrilling new £50,000 initiative for jockeys.

New World Pool Events and Championships

This year, for the first time, both opening Classics of the UK Flat season will be World Pool events. The QIPCO 1000 Guineas on Sunday, May 5th, will join the 2000 Guineas run the day before as a new World Pool race. Additionally, Guineas weekend will mark the beginning of the World Pool UK & Ireland Jockeys’ Championship, where jockeys will compete to earn points across World Pool fixtures in the UK & Ireland.

Level Playing Field for Jockeys

In this unique championship, points will be awarded to the winning jockey of every World Pool race in the UK and Ireland based on the World Pool win dividend. This point system aims to provide fair competition for all jockeys, regardless of their status, with public odds influencing their chances of victory.

Generous Rewards and Prizes

The competition, starting with the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, will culminate on QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on October 19th. The winning jockey will receive £50,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

Not only are the races and competitions exciting for racing fans, but they also aim to give back to the community and racing industry. The collaboration between the Hong Kong Jockey Club, UK Tote, and various racecourses demonstrates a commitment to growing the sport and engaging a global audience.

With new additions to the World Pool calendar and the continuation of popular initiatives like the World Pool Moment of the Year, the 2024 racing season is shaping up to be one filled with anticipation, competition, and generosity.

Racing enthusiasts in the UK and Ireland can look forward to accessing global pools and enjoying the excitement and value that World Pool events bring to the sport.
