Team ATK Oshun displays stellar performance at the 2024 Online Championships on April 13th

Mind Sports South Africa’s Online Championships Showcase Talent

The Mind Sports South Africa’s (MSSA) 2024 Online Championships, held on 13 April 2024, exhibited the prowess of esports athletes, providing them with an opportunity to qualify for MSSA’s National Team Trials. The trials, set to take place on 25 May 2024, will determine the official representatives of South Africa at the African Qualifiers leading up to IESF’s 16th World Esports Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in October and November 2024.

Rise of Female Teams

A notable highlight of the championship was the impressive performance of female teams. In particular, Team ATK Oshun (ATK Club Sport) showcased their outstanding skill and sportsmanship, dominating the opposition to emerge victorious in the premier event. This achievement earned them a spot in the National Team trials scheduled for 25 May 2025.

The IESF’s 15th World Championships will feature competitions in various titles:

  • Counter-Strike 2 – Female division
  • DotA 2
  • eFootball
  • Mobile Legends, Bang Bang
  • Mobile Legends, Bang Bang – Female division
  • PUBGM

The exceptional level of play witnessed in the championships earned 37 Registered Players from six provinces Provincial Colours. Notably, Limpopo, Free State, and Northern Cape did not have any Registered Players who achieved this distinction.
