Flutter UKI launches Gaming Innovators competition for startups

Flutter UKI Announces Gaming Innovators Competition for Startups

Flutter’s UKI division, consisting of Sky Betting and Gaming, Paddy Power, and Betfair, is seeking to partner with a promising startup to better cater to the growing female customer base in the UK and Ireland.

Under the Alpha Hub program, Flutter Entertainment aims to engage female gamers in the UK and Ireland after recent research indicated a promising opportunity in this demographic.

To effectively engage this group, product ideas must be tailored to their unique playstyle. Since women often discover games through social circles, startups should focus on social and community gaming to attract customers. The proposed solution should be a digital entertainment destination that promotes relaxation, fun, and enjoyment.

Additionally, there is a “wildcard option” for startups with interesting ideas that may not align perfectly with the brief. These companies can still submit their solutions on how Flutter can provide safe and entertaining experiences for female customers now and in the future.

The partnership offers various benefits to the winning startup, including the opportunity to form a commercial partnership with Flutter, scale their solution across the UK and Ireland, participate in a demo day to showcase their business to investors and technology experts, access workshops and network with senior Flutter leadership, and receive support from the Alpha Hub Startup Support.

Steve Birch, Chief Commercial Officer at Sky Betting & Gaming, expressed excitement about the market gap and the opportunity to collaborate with innovative startups through the Alpha Hub program.

Applications for the competition are now open and will close on March 15, 2024.
