ESL One in Malaysia This December: Highest Prize Pool of US$1,000,000

ESL One Returns to Malaysia with $1 Million Dota 2 Tournament

ESL, a brand under the ESL FACEIT Group, has announced the highly anticipated return of ESL One powered by Intel® to Malaysia. Taking place from December 11-17, this world-class Dota 2 tournament features 12 top teams battling it out for a prize pool of US$1,000,000. This year, the tournament will move from Genting to Kuala Lumpur, with playoffs matches live at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

Format

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 kicks off with a three-day Group Stage from December 11-13. The two groups of six teams will compete in a single round-robin format. The top six teams will then proceed to the live Playoffs from December 15-17, featuring a double elimination format. Stay tuned for the announcement of the competing teams.

According to Shane Clarke, Director of Game Ecosystems – Dota 2 at ESL FACEIT Group, “We’re bringing back ESL One bigger and more accessible than ever before, as we move the tournament from Genting to Kuala Lumpur for the first time. We’re ready to put on a world-class tournament at MITEC and look forward to returning to the region with more incredible live Dota 2 action.”

Tickets

Wave 1 tickets for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 will go on sale on September 21 at 15:00 MYT (09:00 CEST) with prices starting from RM149. There are three ticket types available:

1. Premium 3-Day: RM549 – Access to all Playoffs matches, premium bounty bag, seating in the front of the infield, access to signing sessions, and a premium attendee badge.
2. Plus 3-Day: RM349 – Access to all Playoffs matches, bounty bag, and access to signing sessions.
3. 3-Day General Admission: RM149 – Access to all Playoffs matches and access to signing sessions.

Rise Above Fate

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 will feature a new theme called “Rise Above Fate” inspired by Kuala Lumpur’s mystic charm and rich folklore. Carolin Linden, Senior Marketing Creative at ESL FACEIT Group, said, “Our theme draws inspiration from Kuala Lumpur’s mystic charm and rich folklore, inviting players and fans alike on a transformative journey. As courses collide in the grand battle for the crown, we’ll have to wait and see if fate is something to be conquered. Knowing Oracle … it could go either way.”

The tournament will be broadcasted live on the ESL Dota 2 Twitch and YouTube channels, as well as other broadcast partners.
