DOJ Approves PAGCor's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCor) Recognized for Successful Mediation Program

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has recognized PAGCor’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program for its high mediation success rate. This achievement sets PAGCor and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines apart as the only government-owned and controlled corporations to receive such accreditation.

During the recognition ceremony at the PAGCor Executive Office, DOJ Undersecretary Atty. Irene de Torres-Alogoc expressed admiration for PAGCor’s mediation program. She emphasized the importance of resolving disputes in government agencies to maintain productivity.

In their certificate of recognition, the DOJ’s Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR) affirmed that PAGCor complied with all requirements outlined in the accreditation guidelines and training standards for alternative dispute resolution organizations and practitioners.

PAGCor’s accreditation will be valid until 2024. The Public Alternative Dispute Resolution Program was established in accordance with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004 and Executive Order No. 97, which mandates government agencies to resolve disputes within their jurisdiction.

The program aims to prevent conflicts between PAGCor personnel and other parties and avoid the need for court intervention. Cases such as alimony, spousal and child support, and non-payment of debts are commonly mediated through this program.
