Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans, gear up! A new Tera Raid event is coming. This time, it’s all about Chesnaught, the Gen VI Grass Starter.

This marks Chesnaught’s first appearance in the Gen IX games. Players are excited to catch their very own. Here’s when you can join the seven-star Tera Raid to try your luck at catching Chesnaught.

When to Join the Chesnaught Tera Raid

The Chesnaught Tera Raid will happen twice in Scarlet and Violet.

  • First, join from Thursday, May 11 at 7:00pm CT to Sunday, May 14 at 6:59pm CT.
  • Then, try again from Thursday, May 18 at 7:00pm CT to Sunday, May 21 at 6:59pm CT.

How to Beat Chesnaught

Before the Chesnaught Tera Raid starts, train strong Pokémon. Pick ones that can beat Grass/Fighting types.

Chesnaught will be Rock Tera Type this time. It’s weak against Water, Ground, Grass, Fighting, and Steel attacks.

Tip for Winning the Raid

A great counter for Chesnaught is the Steel/Ghost-type Gholdengo. It resists Grass and Rock while fighting moves don’t hurt it. But, Gholdengo is hard to get. You’ll need 999 Gimmighoul Coins, so start collecting now!
