Explaining Shadowless Pokémon Cards

Shadowless Pokémon cards came out early on, between the first and seventh print runs. The Pokémon Company was still figuring out the design then.

“Shadowless” refers to the lack of shadow on the card image’s right border.

Fans and collectors want these cards because they’re rare and hold historical value. Some may even be First Edition cards, which are part of the first set print and have First Edition stamps.

While rare, not all shadowless cards are worth a lot. For example, a Shadowless Abra might go for $21, whereas a Shadowless Holo Rare Alakazam could fetch $347. A Shadowless Charizard with a PSA 10 grade might soar up to $300,000 in value.

The market changes, so values can go up. If you own any, keep an eye on their worth.
