What Are Gimmighoul Coins Used For and How Can You Acquire Them in Pokemon Go?

Pokémon Go keeps things fresh by adding new stuff every time it updates. After Pokémon Day 2023, the game started working with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This made Gimmighoul Coins much more useful.

So, what’s a Gimmighoul Coin? If you haven’t played Scarlet and Violet, it’s key to finding the Ghost-type Pokémon Gimmighoul. This Pokémon popped up in Pokémon Go but you couldn’t catch it at first.

Gimmighoul loves to collect coins. They keep them in a treasure chest in Paldea. You can collect these coins by beating, catching, or doing tasks. Then, you use them to get a special surprise later.

Pokémon Go has these coins too, but you don’t find them in chests on your phone.

In Pokémon Go, Gimmighoul Coins have one job. They evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo.

Gholdengo is the 1,000th Pokémon and needs these coins to evolve. Getting a Gholdengo is great because its Ghost/Steel type is super handy.

Collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins, and you can evolve your Gimmighoul. This is the only way to get one in both Pokémon Go and Gen IX games, unless you trade.

How to Collect Gimmighoul Coins Fast

To evolve Gimmighoul, you need lots of coins. Getting them fast is tough, but there are ways to do it.

You can usually get coins by catching Gimmighoul (Roaming Form) or by using a Golden Lure Module.

The roaming Gimmighoul is only in Pokémon Go. You can find it after using a Coin Bag. You get this bag by sending Postcards to your Scarlet or Violet game.

The Coin Bag works like Meltan’s Mystery Box. It’s like incense that makes Gimmighoul show up around you for a while. Use it every three days to catch Gimmighoul and collect coins.

Another way is the Golden Lure Module. You also get this by using the Coin Bag. This Lure changes PokéStops into Golden ones. It lets you get Gimmighoul Coins by spinning Photo Discs. Sometimes, it even makes roaming Gimmighoul appear.
