After the Unrivaled Greninja Tera Raid event, Greninja can have two abilities: Torrent and Protean. Torrent is a common ability for Water-type starters, boosting Water moves when Greninja’s health drops. Protean is more sought after. Right now, the only way to get a Greninja with Battle Bond is through Pokémon HOME. This feature isn’t available yet, but it will be the only method to bring Battle Bond Greninja into Scarlet and Violet. Keep in mind, Battle Bond Greninja can’t breed, so this one’s pretty exclusive.
Changes to Battle Bond
Battle Bond has evolved. The Ash-Greninja transformation is gone. Now, beating an opponent boosts Attack, Speed, and Special Attack. These upgrades make Greninja more powerful without needing the transformation.
Is Ash-Greninja in Scarlet and Violet?
With the recent updates to Battle Bond, Ash-Greninja won’t appear in Scarlet and Violet. It seems Ash-Greninja remains a unique feature of past games. Yet, Greninja’s Battle Bond ability still offers significant advantages for skilled players.
