Top Tinkaton Tera Raid Builds in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Tinkaton shines as a Pokémon with its mix of Fairy and Steel types, known to be a strong combo in the game. But how does it stack up in Tera Raids? Let’s dive in.

First off, don’t overlook Tinkaton for Tera Raids. It shines in many roles. Be it attacking, mixing attacks and support, or full-on support, Tinkaton can handle tough bosses and help its team.

Right now, the Unrivaled Grening Tera Raid is on. It returns from Feb. 10 to Feb. 12. Tinkaton is especially useful in this tough Seven-Star Tera Raid.

To unlock Tinkaton’s full power, check out our guide on top Tinkaton Tera Raid strategies in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Building the Best Tinkaton

Tinkaton stands out with great HP and Defense. Its Speed is okay, but its Attack could be better. Yet, its move, Gigaton Hammer, hits hard with 160 base power. The catch? You can’t use it back-to-back. Just mix in other moves so you stay helpful to your team.

Besides Gigaton Hammer and Play Rough, Tinkaton has many moves for damage and support. This makes it a flexible choice for Tera Raid Battles.

If you’re unsure about Tera Raids, Tinkaton has three strong strategy options.

Pure Physical Attacker

For attacking, Steel is Tinkaton’s best Tera type. It boosts Gigaton Hammer’s damage and keeps its defense strong. Mold Breaker ensures its moves hit all Pokémon. An Adamant nature boosts its damage without hurting its bulk and Speed. Sitrus Berry heals Tinkaton, helping it set up for more attacks. Moves like Gigaton Hammer, Play Rough, Swords Dance, and Brick Break or Bulldoze round out its arsenal.

Such a moveset boosts Tinkaton’s Attack, making Gigaton Hammer even scarier. Play Rough acts as a secondary move. The other moves tackle Steel-types, which normally resist it.

Physical + Support Hybrid

Tinkaton as a hybrid can choose Flying or Water as Tera types. These protect it from Ground and Fire attacks. You can pick an Adamant or Careful nature, focusing on attack or defense. Leftovers or Sitrus Berry help it last longer. Its moves like Gigaton Hammer, Play Rough, Skitter Smack, and Reflect support the team while dealing damage.

Pure Support

For pure support, Flying or Water Tera types work well. They help Tinkaton resist its usual weaknesses. A Careful nature boosts its defense, important since this setup focuses on survival. Light Clay extends the duration of Reflect and Light Screen, letting Tinkaton help even more. Moves include Gigaton Hammer, Reflect, Light Screen, and Helping Hand.

Facing the Unrivaled Greninja? Go for the pure support build. Tinkaton’s offensive capabilities fall short here, but it excels in team support.

Pure Support (Unrivaled Greninja Version)

For the Unrivaled Greninja battle, opt for Flying or Water as defensive Tera types. They counter its weaknesses. Stick with a Careful nature and the Light Clay item for longer-lasting support. Moves like Skitter Smack, Reflect, Light Screen, and Helping Hand balance defense and team boosts. This setup lets Tinkaton reduce Greninja’s threat, especially against its Hydro Pump and Ice Beam moves.

In summary, Tinkaton’s versatility makes it a valuable Pokémon for any Tera Raid Battle. Whether attacking, supporting, or mixing both, it plays a crucial role in your strategy.
