Top Tera Type for Iron Leaves (Paradox Virizion) in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Exciting Update

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet update for Pokémon Day is here. It brings two new Paradox Pokémon. One is the future version of Virizion, called Iron Leaves.

How to Get Iron Leaves

You can only catch Iron Leaves in a five-star Tera Raid Battle in Scarlet and Violet. It comes with a default Tera type. But, this might not be the best Tera type for making Iron Leaves strong.

If you’re wondering what the best Tera types for Iron Leaves are, we’re here to help.

Choosing the Best Tera Type

To get Iron Leaves, join the special five-star Tera Raid Battle. Its default Tera type is Psychic. Sadly, Psychic is not the best choice for Tera type.

Iron Leaves combines Grass and Psychic types, which isn’t great. Changing to Tera Psychic reduces some weaknesses. It also doubles the damage of Psychic moves. But, the benefits stop there.

Tera Psychic still leaves Iron Leaves weak in three areas. Plus, getting more damage from Psychic moves doesn’t make up for these flaws.

If you still want to use Psyblade to its fullest, a fast Iron Leaves with Tera Psychic could work. Add Electric or Psychic Terrain to boost damage even more.

Defensive Tera Types are Key

For a Pokémon like Iron Leaves with poor dual typing, choosing a defensive Tera type is crucial. Water and Fairy Tera types would be smart choices.

Tera Water makes Iron Leaves less weak to Fire and Ice. It also gives it more resistances. Tera Fairy makes it less weak to Bug moves. Plus, it resists Dark moves, which used to be a weakness.

Tera Steel is another option if you’re not worried about Fire moves. It makes Iron Leaves resist Ice, Flying, and Bug moves, which were big weaknesses before.

This update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet offers exciting challenges. Choosing the right Tera type for Iron Leaves can make it a strong addition to your team. Try out different Tera types and find the best one for your strategy.
