Everyone’s wondering when and on what to use their Master Ball. A good idea might be one of the Galarian birds—Articuno, Zapdos, or Moltres. They’re known for being really hard to catch.
But, a fan posted a meme on May 24 that shows the worst way to waste your Master Ball.
The Worst Mistake
The meme shared shows catching a Galarian Bird with your Master Ball only to find out it’s just a Ditto. Ditto can transform, and in Pokémon Go, it doesn’t reveal itself until after you catch it. So, it’s possible to mistakenly use your Master Ball on a Ditto.
However, for now, players are safe from this mistake. Ditto can only transform into a specific set of Pokémon, and the Galarian Birds aren’t on that list yet.
Fans React
This didn’t stop fans from making fun of Niantic, though. A comment with over 400 upvotes warned against giving Niantic ideas to trick players. They suggested that Niantic might make Ditto disguise as rare Pokémon to make players use their Master Ball, and then charge for a second one.
Bad Ideas?
Besides catching a Ditto, there were other bad ideas shared. Using the Master Ball on a Caterpie or giving away a Pokémon caught with it for candy were among them. These are not good ideas, but it’s all in good fun.
