Tinkaton is rocking the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet world with its super strong move, Gigaton Hammer. Players have figured out a way to power it up even more, overcoming its usual limit. This could make a big splash in doubles battles.
In a Reddit post on June 23, a player shared a funny Pokémon Showdown game. In it, they used Encore on Tinkaton, only for it to hit back with two Gigaton Hammers in a row. This isn’t supposed to happen.
Usually, you can’t use Gigaton Hammer two times in a row because it’s so strong, with a 160 base power. The player thought using Encore, which makes the target repeat their move, would make Gigaton Hammer fail the second time. But, it worked.

In doubles battles, this trick can make Tinkaton a star. After Tinkaton uses Gigaton Hammer, a faster teammate can use Encore to make it smash again with its hammer. With a Choice Band, this move is fierce.
But, there are ways to beat this strategy. Your rival can use Protect to shield their Pokémon from the second hit. Or, they could use Disable on Tinkaton, forcing it to use Struggle instead. Luckily, not many players use Disable in the current Scarlet and Violet games.
Players mentioned this trick only works until the second Gigaton Hammer hits. After that, Tinkaton will have to use Struggle or be swapped out. But, getting two heavy hits could still be a game changer if you have another strong Pokémon ready.
Despite some downsides, the double Gigaton Hammer Tinkaton combo might be the next big thing in doubles battles.
