The Pokémon Company Fights Scalping for This Year’s Largest Trading Card Game Set

Exciting News for Pokémon TCG Fans in Japan

Japan is all set to welcome this year’s most awaited Pokémon TCG set. The Pokémon Company is taking steps to keep scalpers away.

Made-to-Order to Beat Scalpers

The Pokémon Company announced on June 12 that Pokémon Card 151 will be available as “made-to-order.” This move aims to stop scalpers from hoarding and overpricing the set. It also ensures that fans can easily get their hands on it.

You can buy your packs directly from the Pokémon Center in Japan through their website. Even if you miss out initially, there’s a chance to grab the set in the upcoming months. Place your orders between June 15 and June 21. Depending on a lottery system, your order will ship after September. If it sells out, they’ll offer another chance to reserve later.

Stopping Scalpers in Their Tracks

The Pokémon Company plans to cancel orders from suspected scalpers. They aim to block such people from buying future products. They’re keeping an eye on resale apps to prevent scalping.

The made-to-order approach isn’t new in Japan. It was first used for the Snow Burst and Clay Hazard sets after they sold out.
