Scarlet and Violet Alert May Decelerate Frequency of Pokémon Game Releases

The Pokémon Company recently shared news about future game launches. They talked about maybe slowing down their release pace.

At the Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama, Japan, The Pokémon Company’s COO, Takato Utsunomiya, was in the spotlight. He gave an interview to ComicBook.com. Utsunomiya discussed how his team is thinking about game releases.

Utsunomiya noted that Pokémon games came out on a regular schedule in the past. But now, the team talks more and more about keeping up this speed without dropping quality.

These discussions might be due to negative feedback from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s launch last November.

Since their release, these Gen IX games faced quality issues. Players faced these problems while Shiny hunting or taking on Tera Raids. Allowing more development time could have reduced these issues.

Utsunomiya’s talk hints at taking more time for future Pokémon games. This is because fans noted the Gen IX games seemed rushed.

Fans are ready to wait longer for something great from the tenth generation. Meanwhile, we look forward to The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.
