Recent Pokémon Updates: Announcement of New Scarlet and Violet DLC, Launch of Paradox Tera Raid Event, and Release of 1.2.0 Patch

Pokémon Day was huge for fans, and those who play Scarlet and Violet got the best treats. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC got announced, version 1.2.0 patch hit the game, and a new Tera Raid Battle Event with Walking Wake and Iron Leaves started. These new Pokémon are based on Suicune and Virizion.

Nintendo and Game Freak told us more than 230 Pokémon from earlier games will join the PokéDex with the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. A dataminer even leaked this list.

Pokémon Sleep is also on its way, finally. It links with Pokémon Go via a new device, Pokémon Go Plus+, which you can preorder now.

On another note, Zacian joined Pokémon UNITE but quickly showed how overpowered it is.

Scarlet and Violet’s First DLC Announced

Since its launch in November 2022, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been big hits. It was only a matter of time before the first DLC came out. Today, they announced it’s called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. It will come out in two parts. Part One: The Teal Mask drops in Fall, and Part Two: The Indigo Disk lands in Winter.

Part 1 takes us on a school trip to Kitakami, a place full of festivals, mysteries, and new Pokémon. Part 2 will add more to the main game’s story and introduce the Legendary Terapagos.

Nintendo and Game Freak also confirmed over 230 Pokémon will join the Regional PokéDex. While we only know a few now, a dataminer has leaked the full list.

Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Battle Event Now Live

Just as fans were digesting the DLC news, another surprise dropped. A new Tera Raid Battle Event featuring Walking Wake and Iron Leaves started. These two new Legendary Paradox Pokémon look and are as mighty as they come. You can catch them now until March 12, but only once.

Patch 1.2.0 Now Live

After much guesswork about its contents, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s latest patch is now live. It brought new features like Online Competitions and the ability to link the games to Pokémon Go. Also, it made some helpful changes, like editing nicknames and held items easier. The patch didn’t solve all the problems but fixed many issues affecting battles, Tera Raids, and gameplay.

Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Go Plus+ Coming Soon

Pokémon Sleep, first talked about in 2019, finally has more details. It works with Pokémon Go Plus+, a new device. This device helps track sleep and waking times. It also lets a Pikachu sing lullabies, act as an alarm, and more. You can spin PokéStops and throw PokéBalls without using your phone, and sleep data overlaps with Pokémon Go. Pokémon Sleep is expected this summer, with the Pokémon Go Plus+ device releasing on July 14.

Zacian Overturns Pokémon UNITE Meta

Pokémon UNITE’s latest update added Zacian, a long-awaited character. However, Zacian is showing off too much power. It deals too much damage, often wiping out four players in seconds. If you doubt it, Cloud9 streamer CrisHeroes and Spragels showed just how broken it can be. CrisHeroes dealt 147,000 damage on his first try, and Spragels made some teams give up before two minutes.
