The long-awaited Primal Pokémon are finally hitting Pokémon Go. Niantic has confirmed that Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre will debut at the Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn – Las Vegas event. This is huge news!
Primal Reversion Hits Pokémon Go
Starting Feb. 18 to 19, players can experience Primal Reversion. This cool feature lets some Pokémon transform, become stronger, and get new abilities. Groudon and Kyogre are about to get way more powerful. This change will stick around in the game after its debut.
Special Events and Research
If you’re at the Go Tour: Hoenn in Las Vegas or join the global event from Feb. 25 to 26, you’re in for a treat. There will be special Primal Surge Field Research. Expect to see more Pokémon in the wild and in raids. You might even bump into a Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre during a raid.
Defeat them in raids or finish certain tasks, and you’ll earn Primal Energy. This is similar to Mega Energy. Use it to keep Groudon and Kyogre in their primal forms for eight hours. The more you use it, the less energy it takes.
Ticket holders at the in-person event will find themselves teaming up with Team Go Rocket for a new story. Plus, there are extra bonuses. Groudon and Kyogre will learn new moves, and there are higher chances to find shiny Pokémon from the Hoenn region.

– As your Buddy, Primal Groudon ensures Fire, Grass, and Ground-type Pokémon caught bring extra XP and Candy.
