Pokémon’s Strategy-Based Spinoff May Receive a Sequel, Dependent on Fan Demand

Pokémon has seen many side games over the years. Some of these didn’t stick around, but one might come back if fans show enough interest.

tags remain as they are, capturing moments and excitement.

Pokémon Conquest stands out as a unique blend. Launched on the Nintendo DS in 2012, it mixed Pokémon with Nobunaga’s Ambition, bringing a tactical RPG twist. Many have forgotten it, but its developer, Michi Ryu, hinted at a possible sequel in a June 22 interview with Noisypixel. Ryu didn’t dismiss the idea, stating, “If there are many requests, we could consider this.”

Despite its quiet fanbase, Pokémon Conquest was overshadowed by Pokémon Black and White 2, which came out around the same time. It ranked in Japan’s top 30 games of 2012, selling 340,533 copies. To put it in perspective, Black and White 2 sold nearly 3 million copies.

The Nintendo Switch era has brought us sequels like Pokémon Snap and an upcoming Detective Pikachu game. With the Pokémon Company still thinking about spin-offs, Pokémon Conquest could be next for a revival.

Right now, it looks like it’s all in the fans’ hands. If they speak up, who knows? We might just see a Conquest sequel come to life.
