Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon falls short of 10 million sales, Let’s Go emerges as a success

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon falls short of 10 million sales, but Let’s Go proves successful

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the paired role-playing video games from the Pokémon franchise, have failed to reach the 10 million sales mark since their release in 2017. Despite this, the recently launched Pokémon Let’s Go games have managed to sell remarkably well.

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the enhanced versions of the original Sun and Moon games, were expected to perform exceptionally in terms of sales. However, despite being well-received by critics and fans alike, they have fallen short of the 10 million sales milestone. These games introduced new features and additional story content, making them appealing to Pokémon enthusiasts.

On the other hand, Pokémon Let’s Go, which was released in November 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, has proven to be a commercial success. This game, designed as a remake of the popular Pokémon Yellow game from 1999, features simplified mechanics and incorporates elements from the mobile game phenomenon, Pokémon Go.

The introduction of Pokémon Let’s Go has attracted both veteran fans and new players to the franchise. The game’s accessibility, with its intuitive controls and incorporation of Pokémon Go mechanics, has made it appealing to a wider audience. Furthermore, the ability to connect the game to the Pokémon Go app on mobile devices has enhanced its appeal.

Transitioning from the traditional hand-held platform to the Nintendo Switch has proven to be a smart move for the Pokémon franchise. The console’s versatility and popularity have contributed to the success of Pokémon Let’s Go, providing players with a refreshing gaming experience.

Although Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon didn’t reach the sales target, the Pokémon franchise remains a force to be reckoned with. With the continued success of Pokémon Let’s Go and the upcoming release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, the future looks promising for the beloved franchise.
