Pokémon TCG Online Set to Shut Down, Replaced by Live Ahead of New Set Release

Get ready to play Pokémon TCG anywhere, anytime, without carrying a bunch of cards. Pokémon TCG Live is moving out of its long beta phase. It will launch for both PC and mobile on June 8, The Pokémon Company shared. The older version, Pokémon TCG Online, will close on June 5. You can’t download or play it after that. But, you can move your game data and collections to Pokémon TCG Live later on.

What’s New in Pokémon TCG Live?

Pokémon TCG Live came out in a worldwide beta last year. It has lots of the same cool features as before. You can buy packs for online play and redeem codes from real-life Pokémon TCG products. There’s also a battle pass. As you complete challenges and beat other players, you can get rare cards and other cool stuff. There are free and premium options.

Easy Start

First time logging into either the global beta or the actual game? You’ll get several ready-to-play theme decks. You can practice with these decks against computer trainers before playing against real people.

Get Set for Scarlet and Violet—Paldea Evolved

Pokémon TCG Live will officially launch before the new TCG set, Scarlet and Violet—Paldea Evolved, comes out on June 9. This new set features the first cards of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Legendary group – Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, Chi-Yu, and Wo-Chien. Look forward to buying packs and bundles in Pokémon TCG Live with in-game currency on launch day.

If you’ve got the Pokémon TCG Live beta, you can keep playing until the official launch on PC and mobile devices on June 8. Get ready for a whole new way to enjoy Pokémon TCG, with the convenience of digital and the fun of the physical game combined.
