Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Update Suggests Potential Milestone Event for Mew

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans have been waiting, and finally, we got a peek at the first DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. We’re still in the dark about when it’ll drop, but a fresh patch might’ve spilled some beans. It even includes a big moment for the mythical Pokémon Mew.

New Patch, New Secrets

Right after Scarlet and Violet’s version 1.3.2 update went live, dataminers didn’t waste time diving into the game’s code. This update was all about making tournaments run smoother. But, the dataminers found more than just that.

Dataminer mattyoukhana quickly pointed out changes in the game’s text from the June update. Most changes were about Technical Machines (TMs) never seen in the game before. But what caught everyone’s attention was a mention of Mew. It hinted that Mew might not just show up, but also fight in some way.

Since 1996, Mew has popped up in several Pokémon games. But, you could never battle Mew like other Pokémon. You could only get Mew through special events. This time, things might be different. The update hints at a possible battle with Mew.

What Does This Mean for Mew?

This could mean Mew might have unique battle text when it faces you. Or, Mew could join you in a Tera Raid against an NPC during a DLC story. Pokémon players have always wanted more battle features, and it looks like they’re in for a treat.

Not stopping there, the leaks also tease Mewtwo’s appearance in future Tera Raid events. The Mightiest Mark, mentioned next to Mewtwo, is usually for Pokémon in high-level raid battles.

New Moves and More

The update by mattyoukhana didn’t just talk about Mew and Mewtwo. It also listed new TMs, from TM172 to TM201, showing that more TMs will come with the DLC. They even tweaked the Mightiest Mark, stirring more excitement around what’s coming with Mewtwo.

The Illuminate ability got an update too. Before, it helped attract wild Pokémon, which doesn’t matter now since Pokémon spawn in the open world. Now, it stops accuracy from dropping, making it like the Keen Eye ability.

Apparently, all these juicy details might have slipped into the update by mistake. The team was fixing up tournament feature texts but ended up adding DLC content instead.

Wait and Watch

Remember, none of this is officially confirmed by Game Freak, Nintendo, or The Pokémon Company. They probably won’t spill the beans until we’re closer to the DLC launch. So, keep an eye out for The Teal Mask this fall, and let’s see if these leaks hold water.
