Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Trading Card Game Updates: Rainbow Rares Excluded and Booster Pack Contents Revised

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TCG series is shaking things up more than ever before. The Pokémon Company has just revealed a major update: the booster pack structure is getting a big makeover.

New Pack Structure

Gone is the old pack format we’ve gotten used to. Starting with Scarlet and Violet’s first set, the game is changing how packs are built. According to PokéBeach, this new setup will start soon.

They are dropping two common cards and adding a second reverse holo. This change pairs up with another reverse holo and a holographic card. The Pokémon Company mentioned before that pack prices would rise to $4.49. But, players get three foil cards guaranteed, making it a fair trade. PokéBeach has the full details.

Each 10-card pack now includes four Commons, three Uncommons, two Reverse Holos, one Holo, one Basic Energy, and one Code Card. The new order means the most special cards are at the back. This makes pack openings more exciting for fans, collectors, and creators. You don’t have to shuffle cards anymore to find the best ones at the end.

Easier for Everyone

This new setup helps everyone. It puts rare cards where they’re easy to find, at the end of the pack. PokéBeach also said that pulling Rare Holos, Pokémon ex, Full Art, and Gold cards will be as usual. If you get an Illustration or Special Illustration Rare, it takes the place of the second Reverse Holo, even though they’re Secret Rares.

Goodbye to Rainbow Rares

There’s another bit of news fans will like. Rainbow Rare cards are gone, at least for now. They might come back later but won’t be part of every pack like before. So, they won’t fill the Secret Rare spots anymore.
